Browning blr take down manual
Quick takedown. Very quick. The takedown models of the BLR are unique, allowing you to simply flip a finger lever, twist the receiver and barrel 90 degrees and instantly separate the two parts for space saving storage or easy transportation, even in a backpack or hunting duffel. Reassembly is in reverse order and takes only seconds. Scout style. The Black Label Takedown is generally categorized as a scout rifle -- a concept pioneered by Jeff Cooper. It is short, fast to the target and very effective. This BLR takes the concept a bit further by adding a full takedown feature, accessory rails, a flash hider and a short 16" barrel (legal in all 50 states). Take down in a second. BLR Takedown models are just as accurate and reliable as their unified counterparts but much easier to transport and store. The rifle is easily and quickly assembled without tools by simply sliding the barrel half into the receiver half and locking them together with the flip of a lever.
The BLR '81 Lightweight Stainless Takedown comes with a straight grip laminate stock with a 1-inch recoil pad. Laminate stocks tend to be more durable and weather-resistant than traditional wood components. The Takedown's matte stainless-steel barrel is nested within the checkered, flat-sided laminate forend, and secured by a barrel. The Model 81 comes from Browning with a manual that tells the new gun owner about "safe handling procedures." The manual must have been written by lawyers trying to avoid lawsuits, because it does not tell how the owner how to dismantle the gun—not so much as how to remove one screw to clean the rifle internally. Its exactly the same as the standard BLR in the Browning Warranty Field Service Manual. Use a scribe or ice pic to rotate the stud gear and reinsert your tapered alignment pin while holding the bolt forward. Then release the bolt and check for wink. The only difference is the to wink in the old BLR.
